We went on a 6+ mile hike today through Gulf State Park. It was a beautiful day and the three of us needed a good walk after several days on the road.
Biscuit thinking there may be some alligators in them there waters.
Cutie boy!
Happy Campers-oh no Happy Hikers:)
This plant is like a weed here in the park. It looks like rosemary
With little orchid flowers.
Florida Rosemary
Reindeer moss: a tiny lichen (not moss) and huge life saver. These tiny lichens work together to hold sandy dune system together.
Their tiny, tight grasp helps prevent erosion and limit the impact of storms.
While strolling along we crossed paths with a MOUNTAIN LION! It was shocking. Fortunately Biscuit was quiet, did not pull away from us or attract attention to us. The huge cat just wandered across the paved path without any concern. (this is a stock photo not ours)
