Lackland telling me about the lake, the big white bird that lives in it and how his new puppy who just learned how to walk on a leash walked right over the edge of the short walkway pier into the lake.
Biscuit and I met a nice young man named Lackland while out on a walk around the lake. He lives here at the KOA Alamo in a cabin. He is the oldest of four siblings, has two very small dogs, is homeschooled and loves all kinds of animals and insects. He likes to read The Magic Tree House, watch the Magic School Bus and hates to walk. All this in a few minutes-did I say the kid can talk!
He quizzed me on many things- my age which was shocking; how many children I have; their ages (again shocking as two of the three are older than his parents and I still consider them kids;); where my favorite place to see fireworks (Indian Head); ~15 questions about Biscuit; to see pictures of my kids; where is Maryland; do I like Texas...
I asked him if math was of any interest, he said "No-why". I said it was Pi Day, he said eating pie has nothing to do with math. I explained Pi as best one can to an 8yo who doesn't like math. I'm sure his parents will be sorting this Pi thing out tonight because this kid is curious.
Biscuit kept himself busy in between cuddles from Lackland and my inquisition with the squirrels. Look high in the tree, this little guy was taunting Biscuit running up and down the tree.
Mark would have preferred stuffing his pie hole on this Pi day but instead he had to unstuff the crapper. He used an "endoscope" to find the problem but it's location required full disassembly of the throne innards. Mark reports that access and resolution was easier then a home john.
