After several days in busy cities we are ready for some back to nature and relaxation time.
Garner State Park in Concan, Texas is not far from San Antonio but much more relaxing. The Frio River runs through this ~2,000 acre park. The water is so clear you can see to the river bed even in the deepest areas. The water was COLD but refreshing after sunbathing. There are hiking trails along the water and crisscrossing the park and campgrounds. This park was busy but it is easy to see how it could get packed in the late spring and summer with all the activities offered. There were many families visiting on spring break and taking advantage of paddle-boats, kayaks, geocaching, "swimming" aka falling off the paddle-boat or canoe flip, picnics, hikes and organized activities with park rangers. We chose to lounge on the shores of the Frio and listen to books, nap and picnic.

Bald cypress trees grace the shores of the Frio. These trees grow to 120 feet and live up to 600 years. The trees we saw are not budding yet but we could see nesting places for wildlife.

The coach has many compartments, in the front end is the generator compartment. It is good access to change headlights, there is a hot water spigot which is nice for washing the windshield, a ladder (Mark used to get on roof), there is also a view of the air horn-don't be in that compartment when someone hits that button.
